Ship's Log

Ship's Log #1

The planet turns purple. The shuttles get a new hull. And a first look at the Cargo Bay.

Pixel art of the Mothership Dania, a long colony ship built of modules, in orbit above a planet with purple continents; small shuttles head down to the surface.
This week aboard the Dania

Long before there was a game, I painted the planet Dania with purple forests and modelled a wedge-shaped shuttle to land on it. This week both finally came aboard.

What's new:

Also in this week: 22 achievements, a locker at home, and a full redraw of the ship's escaped creatures. Three of them next time.

Old shuttle or new: which would you fly?

Two pixel-art globes side by side: the planet Dania with green land (before) and with purple and magenta land (now).
Dania, before and now Magenta plains and deep purple woods: the planet as I first painted it, years before the game.
Two pixel-art shuttles: the old one, a white capsule with a blue tail fin, and the new one, a cream wedge covered in heat tiles with engines at its stern.
The shuttle, rebuilt Heat tiles, a dark belly and five engines in the stern: the wedge from my old concept art.
A screenshot from the game: the cadet swings on a grapple line under a yellow crane girder in the ship's Cargo Bay.
New area: the Cargo Bay And a new way across it: the Grapple Line.
